What is an ESD Mat?

ESD mats are designed to eliminate static on its surface and of objects placed upon it. It does this by having a conductive material embedded within the mat that collects the static and sends it to ground (earth).

Regular cleaning is required to ensure the mats maintain their ESD performance long term. The frequency of cleaning depends on how often they are used or how fast they get dirty.

The type of cleaning solution used is crucial to keeping the mat working as it should. Basic cleaning can be as simple as sweeping the mats or wiping them down with water.
